As every year, the Alfa Romeo Museum participates in MuseoCity, a 5-day event involving over 90 cultural institutions in Milan. The theme for the 2024 edition is "Worlds in Milan", emphasizing a special welcoming spirit towards the world and others, showcasing stories, spaces, times, and places where ideas, projects and people connect.
During 2023, visitors from over 120 countries came to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese: from Iceland to Taiwan, from Sudan to Tuvalu. It's no surprise, as Alfa Romeo is a brand that has always carried the name of Milan and Italy worldwide. But it's also true the other way around, as it has brought the world to Milan.
Founded in 1910, as an excellence of Made in Italy, Alfa Romeo has never confined itself within national borders, seeking out the best minds, the most innovative technologies, and the most competitive pilots wherever they may be found. The story of Alfa Romeo is one of collaborations and exchanges, of experiments and interactions that brought technicians, machinery, licenses, and know-how to Milan from every corner of the globe.
This story is told through thousands of documents preserved in the brand's archives, the Alfa Romeo Documentation Center, which gathers over 110 years of activity: letters, contracts, confidential documents, photos and videos, technical drawings, advertising materials, and much more.
The archive will be exceptionally open to the public during the MuseoCity weekend, with an exhibition focused precisely on the contributions from other cultures and countries.
