1951: the “Matta” saw the light. To Alfa Romeo, it was the 1900 M, to the War Ministry it was known as the Autoveicolo Ricognitivo (Reconnaissance Vehicle) 1951 (AR51). The brand’s first off-road vehicle, it also won the 1952 Mille Miglia race in the category of military vehicles.
