The cross-section of the four-wheel drive sedan
In the early 1990s, all the spotlights were on the four-wheel drive and Alfa Romeo planned a production
of four-wheel drive versions for every model in its range. The viscous coupling system was called Q4 and
on the 164 it was combined with the 3-litre V6 engine and with a specifically prepared bodywork. Its
mechanics is here displayed with a cross-section model which highlights the transmission.
