Alfa Romeo is not only about cars or races.
107 years of history have generated countless aspects and productions of a company that has succeeded in becoming part the legend of dream cars and immortal victories.

A cycle of exhibitions will trace some of the less known chapters of its history in a trajectory that is inspired on the four elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire.

The first, Air, offers an overview of the production and achievements reached in the field of aviation, which for Alfa Romeo was one of the most important and prestigious industries. Since the first experiments in 1911 – shortly after the birth of the company – to the massive war productions of the Thirties and Fourties, and until the birth of Alfa Romeo Avio in the post-war period. An industry to which one of the most fascinating sections of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese is dedicated, where some aviation engines and propellers are part of the permanent exhibition.

The exhibit, organized within the Milano Photo Week and held at the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese, will be open to the public from Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. It offers an alternative reading of this story, by means of the work of illustrators, architects, film directors, and journalists who have described, communicated, and promoted the company’s industrial activities in a close weave with the political and social situation, as well as with the propaganda of the time.
