Cars, models, engines, and much more in the Museum “backstage”: a series of appointments to discover the historical Collection.
On 20 January 2019, the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo will launch a new cycle of events entitled “Dietro le quinte – Backstage”.
Once a month, for one weekend, an object from the collection normally stored in the deposits will step into the spotlight: it will be exhibited in the Museum and presented to visitors together with documents and images that tell its story and most curious facts.
From the “Alfa Romeo to its Champions” trophies commissioned to the biggest Italian artists, to the New York Taxi designed by Giugiario, to the secrets of the CEM – Electronic Engine Control, and to the Tipo 103 nicknamed “Pidocchio” (the louse).
The first “episode” will be dedicated to a great Alfa Romeo flagship: the Alfa 6. To represent the model, on January 20th, the museum will display the white, armoured vehicle that was used by Pope John Paul II in May of 1983 during the 20th Eucharistic Congress in Milan.
The appointment is for 3 pm on Sunday, January 20th for the in-depth presentation, which will be followed by a guided tour of the Museum at 4 pm (both activities are free of charge and included in the entrance ticket). The “Papal” Alfa will remain on show on Saturday January 19th and Sunday January 20th.
